General Fixes for Windows 11 Update Errors

1. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters
  2. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter
  3. Follow on-screen steps and restart your PC

 2. Restart Windows Update Services

Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run these commands one by one:

  • net stop wuauserv
  • net stop cryptSvc
  • net stop bits
  • net stop msiserver
  • net start wuauserv
  • net start cryptSvc
  • net start bits
  • net start msiserver
  • Then try updating again.

3. Check for Corrupted Files

  • Run the System File Checker (SFC) and DISM tools:
